Loved this article. It is good to be reminded to not overthink what might go in a journal. I have different journals for different things — travel journal, journal for my philosophy on life, and one for writing prompts. The latter is great for fiction writers. Sometimes the stories are about my own life and sometimes they are fictional stories about something someone else has experienced. I develop characters and plot. Then sometimes I use them to develop full stories down the road. They are like rough sketches that eventually become paintings.
